| ¡¡ 12 May 11 – Rare earth carbonate supply is tight and the price continues to rise,
which lead cerium oxide 99-99.9% prices to rise to RMB146,000-147,000/t (USD22,000-22,153/t) at the
moment, up by around RMB2,000/t (USD304/t) compared with those last week.
A source from a separation plant in North China reported that the prevailing prices of cerium oxide 99-
99.9% are RMB146,000-147,000/t (USD22,000-22,153/t), compared with RMB144,000-45,000/t (USD21,688-
21,840/t) last week. “Cerium oxide 99-99.9% demand is strong, and major separation plants raised the
offer to RMB146,000/t (usd22,001/t) last Friday. Since the price of cerium oxide 99-99.9% keeps growing,
we will hold the stocks till the price reaches RMB150,000/t (USD25,610/t),” said the source.
According to the source, the plant produces around 50 tons of cerium oxide 99-99.9% per month, and
has a lot of stocks at hand. The last small deal was concluded at RMB144,000/t (USD21,688/t) with a
regular client last week ago.
A source from another separation plant in North China confirmed that the mainstream prices of cerium
oxide 99-99.9% are RMB146,000-147,000/t (USD22,000-22,153/t) at present, with an increase of 5%
compared with those last week. “Rare earth carbonate price is rising, and cerium oxide 99-99.9%
inquiry is still rising, which lead us to increase the price of cerium oxide 99-99.9% to RMB147,000/t
(USD22,153/t),” said the source.
The plant produces around 50 tons of cerium oxide 99-99.9% per month, and has a lot of inventory at
hand. “Cerium oxide 99-99.9% price nearly rises everyday, and we hold the material to expect higher
offers,” said the source. “We only can sell a few small volume of cerium oxide 99-99.9% to regular
clients.”
As for rare earth carbonate, the mainly transaction price is rising to RMB67,000-68,000/t (USD14,109-
14,261/t) at the moment, up by around RMB2,000/t (USD304/t) compared with those of last week |
